Temperature Calibrators

Being able to accurately control the temperature plays a major factor in many industrial applications. Many of the products manufactured today rely on the machine that make them being kept at a very specific temperature whether it is hot or cold. In order to keep these machines functioning correctly the maintenance staff use temperature calibrators to adjust the myriad of sensors within each machine. The food processing industry is one of the most critical areas of manufacturing when it comes to needing to maintain the right temperature at all times. If the sensors are not kept properly calibrated using temperature calibrators the food could easily spoil due to under or overcooking. Every aspect of food preparation is critical if the manufacturer does not want to produce food that can make a person sick.

After the food is manufactured it is often stored in a cold hold warehouse or in a freezer, temperature calibrators are used to make sure that the sensors keep the cold hold units and freezers at the ideal temperature for safe long term storage. The food industry is not the only industry where the control of temperatures is critical.

In the metal manufacturing industry a slight variance in temperature can mean the difference in manufacturing a safe high quality product that can be used in the building industry or one that will be flawed and could result in serious injury or death. temperature calibrators are used to adjust the sensors in the forge to make sure that the metal is forged at the exact temperature, it has to be to create the right mixture for each purpose. In the manufacturing environment a temperature transmitter makes use of a measuring sensor to read the temperature that then regulates a control element through a feedback loop. This control element might be a valve or switch that control the flow of fuel or power to the burner or cooling device. Two of the most common temperature sensing devices currently being used is the thermocouple and the resistive temperature detector.

You can use temperature calibrators to test both of these sensors and make the necessary adjustments. temperature calibrators can be used as a test infrared thermometers to verify the accuracy of the systems built in temperature probes. It does this by matching the temperature of the material as read by the systems meter compared to that of the calibrator. If the system probes are out of range they can then be adjusted or replaced as necessary to insure continuous proper operation. You can also use temperature calibrators to adjust the on/off switch that starts or stops the heating process by using them to first verify the temperature of the material and then adjusting the switch to function at the predetermined point for proper production control. If you are in the manufacturing maintenance field, temperature calibrators should be a standard piece of equipment in your toolbox.
