Infrared Thermometers - Temprature Measurement Device
If you are looking for Infrared Thermometers, you have come to the right place. infrared thermometers often referred to as IR Thermometers, Infrared Laser Thermometers, or Non-Contact Thermometers are non contact temperature measuring instruments. These devices measure the infrared energy emitted by an object and convert it into a temperature reading. infrared thermometers have become an extremely popular tool for measuring the temperature of various objects that can not be measured by other contact thermometers or where a fast response or simple convenience is required. These products are used in a variety of applications including HVAC, food preparation, industrial process, maintenance, and numerous other applications where temperature needs to be measured.
When selecting an infrared thermometer, the primary specifications to consider are temperature range, optical resolution, and emissivity. Each specification is discussed in more detail below.
Temperature Range - The temperature ranges can vary greatly among different infrared thermometers. Some are intended for relatively limited ranges while others are intended for extremely high and low temperatures.
Optical Resolution - This is also referred to as field of view and is normally expressed as a ratio. The greater the ratio, the greater the distance can be between the infrared thermometer and the surface being measured. In order to get an accurate reading, the entire surface being measured must fall in the field of view of the infrared thermometer. Some products offer a laser sight that shows the center of the area being measured and others shows a circle pattern of dots that represents the entire area being measured.
Emissivity - Emissivity is a measure of a material's ability to radiate absorbed energy. The duller and blacker a material is, the closer its emissivity is to 1. The more reflective a material is, the lower the emissivity. infrared thermometers can either have a fixed or adjustable emissivity.
Proper selection of an infrared thermometer includes consideration of the required temperature range, the distance between the infrared thermometer and the object being measured, and the material(s) being measured.
